O.D.F. CHURCH FACTS
Open Door Fellowship is a non-denominational Christian church. Pastor Bob Colson established the church in 1995. As the church's ministries have expanded, so have the opportunities for involvement and service. There is plenty to do! The church building itself is historic, dating back to the early 1900's. There are multiple Sunday school rooms upstairs, a fellowship hall on the lower level, and the sanctuary occupies the entire main floor. Mission Statement
The mission of Open Door Fellowship is to be obedient to Christ's commission to proclaim the good news. We endeavor to apply the prinicples of God's written word to our private lives, families, and church. Our desire is to disciple the saints towards a Christ-like maturity to equip them for ministry. |
Tenets of Faith
This church accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed counsel and will of God, and the infallible rule for faith, life, and practice.
We believe the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Written Word of God. We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His crucifixion, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to this earth in power and glory to rule until there is a new heaven and a new earth forever. We believe that God’s plan of Redemption centers in the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the fallen human race, and that without the saving benefits and the grace of God in Christ’s work of atonement we are forever lost.
We believe in the saving merit of the shed blood of Christ, and that the only means of being cleansed and forgiven of sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross and His resurrection and His glorification with the Father.
We believe that the power and work of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:4-5) is through the Holy Spirit that Christ might be glorified in the believer’s life and witness. We believe in the perfecting work of the Holy Spirit in all who pursue the calling of God and are both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting damnation.
We believe in the Church, the Body of Christ, as the distinctive people called, redeemed, sanctified and chosen to be a people to the praise of God’s Glory, set apart to bear witness to the Lordship and saving Grace of Jesus Christ, and ministering to one another through faith and love in the uplifting of the Body through the principles of God’s Written Word. We believe in the disciplined Christian life, seeking always the pleasure of the Heavenly Father, the winning of the lost, the edification of the Body, and being consecrated to following Jesus Christ where He leads.
